OUR HEART:

Sistas Unite simply expresses our heart as a conference to unite women of all ages and stages of life to bring change to their world - be it their backyard or on the other side of the globe. 

Sistas 2012 focused on the following international champions:

-   Watoto Africa - Living Hope and Baby Watoto Programmes
-   Hagar's Aftercare Programme in Cambodia
-   Christine Caine's A21 Campaign to abolish human trafficking

Your offering at Sistas 2011 enabled us to renovate a rehabilitation lounge for women recovering from surgery for facial disfiguration in Uganda, and pay for the community reintegration costs for our Hagar girls in Cambodia. This included a home for the family, setting up a business. At Sistas 2012 we collected new underwear to send to the girls at Watoto and A21 shelters in Europe.

Locally we continue to partner with A Girl Called Hope (AGCH), which was birthed right here at Sistas! AGCH has seen scores of young women battling with life controlling issues be restored. Your offering at Sistas 2011 enabled us to sponsor the transitional aftercare programme to reintegrate the girls after graduation. Your generous offering also sponsored one of our favourite parts of conference - Surprise a Sista, where we lavish a delegate who has been through very challenging times. As well as these established initiatives, Sistas Unite has always strived to see Love In Action - that is, love expressed in our local communities through grassroots initiatives. There are so many simple opportunities to show love to those in our backyards, and our heart is for all Sistas to get creative on how we can be the hands of Jesus! Some local LIFE initiatives included the provision of 1100 singlets to The Middlemore Foundation for babies readmitted with preventable respiratory illnesses, and a "knitting revolution" where 600 clothing items were knitted to keep babies warm in the winter.
